1. rain check
a: i'm sorry, dylan, but i have to cancel our date this weekend. my parents are coming this saturday.
b: oh! no problem. i can take a rain check.
2. blah, blah, blah ...
a: so, i heard you went out with that chick last night.
b: yep. and, let me tell you, she really likes talk. she told me about her sister, her mother, her dogs, blah, blah, blah....you know, she literally talked my ears off.
3. flop
a: so, what do you think of that movie?
b: personally, i think it's a flop.
此时我就可以用 "flops down on the floor" 来形容它。
a: i wish the person (car) behind us could stop tailgating us.
b: i know. that's annoying.
5. get the picture
a: i talked to the lawyer today. he said it didn't look good.
b: i know. i've already got the picture.
如: i got an idea. you got to see a doctor.
