some people claim that the disadvantages of the car are more than the advantages, do you agree or disagree?
it has been widely noted that, with the development of technology and auto-industry, the tendency of the use of car is growing. this raises serious debate about the utility of the automobiles. personally, i absolutely agree with the opinion that the demerits of the automobile carry more weights than its merits with the reasons below.
the first reason why i dislike driving a car is that the roads construction in today’s cities are relatively crowded as a result of mushrooming of the automobiles. it is hard to travel to work by car or bus during the rush hour. despite the fact that our government is trying hard to make it getting better, constant complaints are heard everyday about traffic jam, which is one of the most perilous ambiences in big cities. even though building more highways and overpasses can release the stress bought by numerous private car users, it is costing too much from the taxpayers’ pockets and making the budget deficit of a country larger. therefore, people should confine the use of car since the disadvantage results in too much expenditure.
another reason why i advocate the disadvantage is that if everybody in the world drives a car, our lovely earth would suffer in the case of the warm-house effect, which has been already proved by the scientists that the world temperature is increasing every year caused by sizable volumes of carbon dioxide. furthermore, the noxious gases emitted by cars are the direct cause of the air pollution. the considerable use of car is ruining both the environment and people’s health, and it is, viciously, making our life harder and harder.
the last but strongest argument is that the victims mainly caused by traffic accidents can bring into great loss to us. those victims may be scientists who could contribute his later life to the whole mankind; may be artists who would make more true arts in the future. this demonstrates the undeniable fact that cars are the diablo of the modern society, and if none of us would not drive car, these accidents could be obviated.
of course, automobiles have many advantages to some extent. for example, it will make our travel faster and more comfortable. but if all these factors are contemplated, the disadvantages of car certainly carry more weight that its advantages. from what has been stated above, we may finally draw the conclusion that if less automobiles is provided to the markets, the earth is going to be a beautiful paradise for us.
