Flight from hell_英文原版

a sober, documentary-style account of what happened on board the doomed fourth plane to be hijacked on september 11.
on the basis of hundreds of hours of interviews - with family members, friends, flight controllers and other military and civilian personnel involved on the day - director paul greengrass re-creates the story of united airlines' flight 93 in real time.
the result is a film of devastating impact; at once dramatically involving and morally challenging.
the actors resemble the actual people they are playing, the pilots are exactly that, even the flight attendants have on-the-job experience ... greengrass (bloody sunday, the bourne supremacy) is committed to "getting it right".
this doesn't make the experience of watching united 93 any less harrowing.
but the respect with which the film treats its subjects, combined with its conscientious pursuit of authenticity, means audiences don't have the added discomfort of feeling somehow compromised by the process.
greengrass's decision to go with an unknown cast adds to the film's impact.
united 93 successfully conveys the impression of a bunch of ordinary people who are unexpectedly caught up in an event of cataclysmic proportions.
it's terrible to watch their growing realisation of what is happening, and heartbreaking to see their courageous decision to take a stand.
(flight 93 was the only hijacked plane that failed to reach its target on september 11, 2001. this was because passengers and crew decided to overpower their hijackers once their intentions became clear to those on board.)
equally affecting is the confusion, disbelief and impotence of those on the ground as they try to comprehend what's unfolding in front of their eyes.
greengrass's extraordinary and timely film packs one helluva punch. you won't see anything more powerful in your local cinema this year.
