S Korea to send its first vacc
south korea's sole vaccine manufacturer, green cross corp., said tuesday that it will send six million u.s. dollars worth of seasonal influenza vaccines to the pan american health organization (paho), an affiliate of the world health organization (who).
the flu vaccine named, "gcflu," will be sent to the paho by the second quarter of this year, marking the first time that locally- developed seasonal influenza vaccines are exported, green cross said.
green cross became the world's 12th company to produce its own flu vaccine last year, and is planning to expand into overseas markets this year.
"the deal with paho reflects the international recognition the green cross products have gained in terms of quality, safety, and efficiency. we would like to use this as an opportunity to expand our vaccine products overseas in areas like south america, asia, and the middle east," green cross said.
