China slaps anti-dumping tariffs on
www.77y4.cn china has decided to impose anti-dumping tariffs on nylon 6, or polycaprolactam, imported from the united states, the european union, russia and the taiwan region, the ministry of commerce (moc) said thursday.
the five-year tariffs, ranging from 4 percent to 96.5 percent, will take effect thursday, the moc said in a statement on its website.
the dumping of nylon 6 has caused substantial damage to the domestic industry, the ministry said.
the ministry started an anti-dumping investigation into nylon 6 imports in april 2009.
in october last year, the ministry started levying a security deposit on nylon 6 imported from the united states, the european union, russia and the taiwan region as a temporary anti-dumping measure.
nylon 6 is widely used in the manufacture of hosiery, knitted garments, threads, ropes, filaments, nets and tire cords.
