Uruguay, Argentina should jointly respon

uruguay and argentina need to work together to respond to activists who blocked a border bridge between the two sides in protest against a uruguayan paper mill, uruguayan foreign minister said sunday.
"the issue of the bridge blocking is a priority which both countries should discuss and solve," local daily "el pais" quoted luis almagro as saying.
almagro said that, during a meeting on wednesday, argentine president cristina fernandez and uruguayan president jose mujica would discuss the recent sentence given by the international justice court (ijc) in the hague about the controversial paper mill.
the icj ruled on tuesday that the pulp mill in uruguay could continue to operate, rejecting argentine claims that the mill was pumping dangerous pollution into a river on their mutual border.
activists reacted tuesday angrily to the verdict, refusing to give up their fight.
for over three years, activists have blocked an international bridge between guayleguachu, argentina, and fray bentos, uruguay, where the paper mill is located, trying to get the plant shut down.
the dispute over the pulp mill operating in uruguay has soured relations between the two countries since talks failed in 2006.
the pulp mill was established in fray bentos, 310 km northwest of uruguay's capital montevideo, at a spot used for fishing, leisure and tourism. it started operating in 2007, pulping eucalyptus trees for paper.
