《公主日记》：用了太多次“我”_影视英语

　一个叫米亚（mia）小女孩，在从没有见过爸爸、更不知道奶奶长什么样的状态下上了高中。突然有一天，有位和蔼可亲的女王殿下来到了她和妈妈住简陋的家，告诉她，爸爸去世了，她其实是公主，是基诺维亚王位唯一的合法继承人。是否接受这担负着太多责任的王位？小女孩作出了自己的回答——

mia: earlier this evening, i have every intention of giving up my claim to the throne and my mother helped me by telling me that it was ok and by supporting me like she has for my entire life.

but then i wondered how i'd feel after abdicating my role as princess of genovia. would i feel relieved or would i feel sad? and then i realized how many stupid times a day i use the word "i"? in fact, perhaps all i ever do is think about myself. and how lame is that when there's like 7 million other people are there on the planet.

sorry, sorry. i'm going too fast.

but then i thought if i cared about the other 7 million out there instead of just me. that's probably a much better use of my time. see, if i were princess of genovia, then my thoughts and the thoughts of people smarter than me would be much better heard and just maybe those thoughts could be turned into actions.

对白讲解：

　1）两个单词intention和claim

　intention意思是目的意图，比如，我还没有结婚的打算，i have no intention of marrying yet.

　claim的意思是要求主张，那么claim to the throne 意思就是要求继承王位。另外claim还有常用的表示索赔的意思：he claimed on the insurance after he had a car accident. 我出车祸后就向保险公司索赔了。claimed on the insurance向保险公司索赔；如果大家经常听我们的广播新闻，你们也许会注意到claim还经常表示夺取生命的意思：the tsunami last year claimed tens of thousands of people's lives. 去年的印度洋海啸夺取了成千上万人的生命。

　整句话的意思就是：今天早上早些时候，我还坚定的放弃继承王位的权力。

　2）动词abdicate，意思是退位，放弃，辞职。那么abdicate my role as princess of genovia意思就是放弃做基诺维亚公主的权力。

　3）这里relieved的意思是放心的，得到安慰的。比如，你去医院看病，the doctor told you that had nothing serious. then you would feel relieved. 另外大家也可一记住relieved的名词形式relief，表示名词意义的痛苦减轻和安慰。it's a relief.

　4）这里lame的意思是站不住脚的，没有说服力的，比如没有说服力的借口，a lame excuse. 那么整句话的意思就是：与这另外的7百万人相比，这是多么的站不住脚，缺乏说服力啊。

　5）单词forevermore意思是永远的，语气比forever更强。 整句的意思是，但是我现在选择做永远的amelia mignonette thermopolis renaldi，基诺维亚的公主。
