一个晴朗的下午，重庆北碚区朝阳小学南校区400多名提着水桶，拿着锄头和铲子来到了操场上。

there is a new piece of farmland in a corner of the playground. they are going to plant some seedlings (菜苗) there.

the farmland has 10 parts, one for each class. 在每一小块“班级责任田”里都插着各班的彩旗。

"开始！"一声令下。the students run onto the farmland. 大家一起锄地、打窝。 every student gets a seedling. they put them in the small holes.

"we do it very carefully (小心翼翼地)," says zhou yu from grade 5. 她种了一棵莴笋苗。“我们班地里第2行右边第3棵就是我的小菜苗！”

zhou yu visits and waters her seedling every day after lunch. 她和们一起细心观察小菜苗的成长过程，并用画笔把观察到的细节画下来。“我的小菜苗越长越精神了！”she is very proud and happy.
