this upcoming semester, fudan university in shanghai will begin an undergraduate course on queer and gender studies for the first time. the new course will cover gender and homosexuality, and a cross-cultural comparison of homosexuality.
a lot of undergraduates have applied for this course since the school made this decision. however, only 100 applicants are to be fortunate enough to register for the course.
professor gao yanning, from the school of public health, is not surprised at students' enthusiasm. according to him, since the course on homosexuality was opened to graduate students in 2003, it has attracted 1,745 students, including a lot of undergraduate students.
