Mels brush with mug shot_英文原版
when you're a hollywood actor who has just been arrested for drink driving, even the mug shot has to be picture perfect.
that's what was on mel gibon's mind as he prepared for his infamous mug shot by splashing water on his face in a bid to avoid a photo similar to actor nick nolte's unforgettable frame in 2002.gibson, in his first tv interview since his july 28 arrest in malibu, where he launched a tirade at anti-semitic abuse at police, said he wanted to avoid a photo similar to nolte, who had his oscar-winning bed-head and a hawaiian shirt broadcast around the world after being picked up for drink-driving in malibu.
"the first thing that went through my mind was nick nolte's photograph, so i did my best with a finger combing in the water fountain, to sort of like splash a little water on my face,'' gibson told good morning america interviewer diane sawyer.
"so vanity won out.''
in another stunning admission, mad mel confessed he threw down more grog while speaking to his seven children at his malibu mansion after returning from a night in the lock-up.
he said he needed one last drinking session before he went to rehab.
"i just went home and saw my kids were there and i talked to them for a little bit,'' gibson said.
"and it was a little rough that morning so i chased it down with a few cold ones.''
gibson, 50, appeared most upset as he recalled breaking the news to his wife of 26 years, robyn, that he had been arrested.
"i just told her you know, straight out: 'slipped again','' he said.
"she was like, 'of course'.
"you know, she doesn't like that. but, she was gracious, compassionate. she hopes. she bears the brunt and it's no different this time.''
gibson said he didn't know how much he had drunk that night.
"but i know it was tequila,'' he said.
