james leonard, deputy assistant secretary for textiles, apparel and consumer goods, told reporters monday in hong kong that it is unlikely to have a trade war for textiles, which only account for 6 percent of china's trade.
leonard, who accompanied u.s. commerce secretary carlos gutierrez to trade talks in beijing last week, said the two countries will meet again in the next few weeks for more talks on the textile issue.
