bash －－苛刻地批评，比如：stop bashing yao, the big fellow is averaging 18.5 ppg and 8.4 rpg （别在那里骂姚明了，这个大家伙平均得18.5分抢8.4个篮板呢。）
benchwarmer －－捂板凳的球员，比如酒鬼大叔
bs (bullshit) －－（你）放屁，吹牛
bump －－相当于中文的“顶（帖）”。另一个意思是球场上身体冲撞，比如说“姚明，给司机一个bump！”。再有一个意思是球队遇到波折或者低谷，比如“火箭连输2场，遇到了一个小bump。”
contender/pretender －－有力的竞争者/伪装者（指看起来很强但实际没什么实力的队）
choke －－本意是“噎住了”，引申为在关键比赛或关键时刻发挥失常。比如kb前三节发挥很好，结果第4节10投0中，我们就说kobe choked bigtime.
cupcake －－小菜，指弱队，比如hornets is a cupcake team
exposed －－被揭去伪装，比如 the t-wolves is exposed in this game
freaking/freakin －－很难翻译啊，要看上下文，多数是一种加强语气的作用。有时候可以翻做“变态”，比如说：tmac is freakin hot! 意思是tmac手风顺得简直有些变态。
get a life elsewhere, would you? －－到别处去混日子吧。表示蔑视和看不起对方的发言。
give me a break －－你算了吧 或者 行了吧你
homer －－ 盲目支持主队球迷，带贬义。
idiot －－傻瓜，呆子（强烈污辱性）
moron －－蠢货（更强烈污辱）
imho (in my humble opinion) －－以本人的陋见 （很客气的说法，用这个词的球迷一般比较理智）
imo (in my opinion) －－在我看来
lmao (laugh my ass off) －－ 笑死我了（直译是“我的屁股都笑翻了”）
lmfao (laugh my f**king ass off) －－lmao的加强版
lol (laugh out loud or lots of laughter) －－笑死我了

overrated －－被高估的。比如wade is overrated
