Local Party committees reshuffle to be finished by mid 2007_

chinanews, beijing, dec. 14 – in last march, head of the organization department of the cpc central committee he guoqiang once said that local party committees reshuffle work would start this year. he expected that by the end of this year, the party reshuffle work would be completed in 14 provinces across china, while reshuffle work would be finished in the rest of the 17 provinces by mid 2007. this means that by the first half of next year, the reshuffle will be completed in all the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across china, the china business news reported.

 

in order to prevent officials from running here and there among leading cadres demanding for a promotion during this large-scale reshuffle process, the cpc central organization department and the central commission for discipline inspection jointly issued a document early in the year. the document urged all local departments to abide by related disciplines. it also asked discipline inspection organs at various levels to strengthen their function at this time. so far, discipline inspection organs in liaoning, shanxi, jiangxi, henan, and yunnan provinces have issued notifications stressing the importance of party disciplines.

 

“supervising the party reshuffle work at local level is the most important task for us. at present, the task is at the most crucial moment,” said wu ge, head of the information office at the cpc central commission for discipline inspection.

 

ye duchu, an expert on party building at the cpc central party school said that for every 8-15 years, reshuffle work will take place among the party committee in china. this year, the party’s personnel system is at a transitional period when many old cadres will retire and young cadres working at local levels are in their 30-40s, a most appropriate age for working.

 

although personnel changes occur every year in the party, large-scale reshuffle work will usually take place at the party congress, held once in every five years, ye said.

 

based on tradition, chinese communist party will hold its 17th national congress in 2007. before that party organizations at various local levels will hold their congresses which will elect new party committee members.
